What Are Your Treatment Options After a Personal Injury?

If you’ve suffered an injury, there’s one thing you probably want to know – what are your treatment options after a personal injury? Whether it was from a sports injury, an accident on the job, a car crash, or other injury, your life has been affected in some way, and you need relief that lasts. While traditional medicine focuses on treating your symptoms – oral medication to quell the pain, for instance – there is now a cutting-edge branch of medicine for pain relief known as regenerative medicine that focuses on treating the problem at the source.

Depending on the injuries you’ve experienced and the pain you’ve been left with, the doctors at Tarpon Total Health Care create customized wellness plans that are crafted specifically to address your body, and your injuries. Our goal is to get you fully healed and back to your normal life.

Your recommended treatment plan may include one or more of the following treatment options:

Personal Injury Treatment Options Palm HarborChiropractic care – Chiropractic adjustments are key in restoring mobility, and are focused on restoring proper alignment of the spine. With this in place, the messages the brain sends through the nervous system, transmitted via the spine, can reach their intended recipients, and healing can begin to speed up.

Oftentimes pain is caused by something as simple as the spine being “out of place” – such as compressed discs or nerves, and chiropractic adjustments can relieve this pressure and the pain that results.

Platelet-rich plasma injections – This treatment harnesses the body’s incredible ability to heal itself unlike any other. By taking a sample of your own blood and processing it in a machine called a centrifuge (which spins it at a high speed), the platelets separate from the other blood cells, and a concentrated serum remains. Platelets play a huge role in healing, so by reintroducing this serum, rich with growth factors and cytokines into your injured area, the healing process is stimulated and spurred on by the new additions, allowing accelerated healing to occur.

Regenerative cell therapy – In this treatment, specialty regenerative cells known as mesenchymal cells are used to repair and restore damaged tissue at the source of an injury with a simple injection.

The key cells that are so vital in the healing process of our own bodies become fewer in number and less potent in ability as we age.

To illustrate, can you recall a time you had a minor injury as a child? How quickly did you recover? How fast are you healed from bumps, bruises, and falls these days? It’s a notable difference, isn’t it?

Consider how quickly a baby grows inside its mother’s womb, and then continues to grow after birth. There is nothing in adult life that approximates that incredible growth rate. That’s largely because of the sheer number of these specialty cells we have in our youth, and how effective they are at stimulating new cell growth.

That’s why many mothers-to-be make the decision to donate their umbilical cord after their scheduled cesarean-section birth and go through screening procedures to ensure they are healthy enough to do so. After the successful birth, this tissue, incredibly rich with growth factors, is harvested, frozen and stored at an FDA-approved tissue bank. This ensures maximum efficacy when the tissue is later used in regenerative cellular treatments. Imagine the healing capabilities of youth within your adult body. Unprecedented healing, without any surgery.
