These 5 easy stretches for back pain will help you get natural pain relief on an immediate basis. If you are feeling held back from your low back or upper back pain, try out a few of these stretches, then read on for other natural pain relief options.
Child’s Pose
Perhaps the most basic of back stretches, the child’s pose offers immediate lower back pain relief. Starting on all fours, slowly bring your torso backwards until you are sitting on your heels, with your upper body flat on the ground (or as close to it as you can get). Hold for 30 seconds.
Happy Baby
Lie on your back with your legs in the air, knees bent close to your torso. Hold onto your knees or ankles, keeping your low back on the ground. You can even gently rock from side to side to help massage the back. Hold this pose for 30 seconds.
Supine Figure 4
Start by lying on your back, knees bent. Bring your right leg up and over, resting your ankle just above your left knee. Support your left leg by placing your hands behind your leg, below the knee, then slowly bring the thigh towards you. Hold for 30 seconds on each side.
Figure 4 Twist
This pose begins in the same position as the last stretch: lying on your back, knees bent, with your right ankle just above your left knee. Let your arms rest above your head, while you slowly drop your knees towards the right, twisting your body towards the floor. Hold for 30 seconds on each side.
Wide Legged Forward Fold
This one takes a little bit of balance, but provides a wonderful stretch throughout the entire back. Stand in a wide stance with your toes pointing straight ahead, bend your knees slightly, and fold your upper body down towards the ground. Place your hands (or forearms if you can) on the ground for balance, and enjoy the stretch for 30 seconds. When you are ready to stand back up, roll up slowly.
Natural Pain Relief
Sometimes stretching alone isn’t enough to get back to enjoying the life you love. If you are suffering from the life-hindering discomfort back pain can bring, there may be a way to get more long-term pain relief with regenerative medicine.
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP injections, are one way to bring the healing power of regenerative cells to the affected area. By obtaining a sample of your blood and processing it to isolate the most beneficial elements, a concentrated serum is created. This serum is incredibly rich with growth factors that encourage rapid healing, allowing your body’s natural recovery process to occur at an accelerated rate.
Additionally, mesenchymal cells derived from the Wharton’s jelly of umbilical tissue can also be used to bring back pain relief.
Our doctors utilize these cells for their rich and potent healing qualities. They are safely and ethically obtained after a cesarean section birth from healthy, screened, and consenting mothers before being injected into areas of healing. Think of how quickly a six-year-old heals as compared to a sixty-year-old. Our bodies’ cell count reduces over time, so harnessing and utilizing these brand new regenerative cells helps bring fast healing properties to areas of need.
What has your back pain been stopping you from? Many professional athletes utilize PRP and cellular injections for natural pain relief to get back in the game in a matter of weeks, instead of months or years.
Regenerative cellular treatments, including platelet-rich plasma injections, can help with many painful conditions of the back, neck and hips. To find out how it could help you, contact our caring team at Total Tarpon Health Care today (727) 934-0844.
